“Besides RedPrairie, few other software companies offer a robust solution for assemble to sequence, JIT manufacturing. Yet, sequencing is also important as the automakers are increasingly offering more features and options, and they want to shorten the order-to-delivery cycle. Other ‘Pick to Sequence’ type solutions just lead to bloated inventories.” Source: ARC Advisory Group, Simon Bragg |

Delphi - Build To Order RedPrairie's Build To Order solution enables automotive Tier 1 supplier Delphi to manage complex and mission critical production processes at numerous production facilities around the globe |

Build to Order
Fulfilling consumer demand - one car at a time
Automotive consumers are requesting more and more highly individualized and customized vehicles. This global trend challenges the automotive supply chain as cars are increasingly made to order, with highly complex systems and modules being supplied order / car specific.
Automotive suppliers must deliver zero-defect products on-time, made-to-order for OEMs to quickly respond to consumers’ unique requests and last-minute changes. An increasing number of consumer and high-tech options require late customization. Often the products are packed and shipped In-sequence (SILS/ILVS programs). The short lead-times require the supplier to respond to any change in real time, causing core production processes to become mission critical.
RedPrairie’s Build-To-Order solution provides unique flow control to reflect the processes required for each customized end product, including sequencing. Once defined, Build-To-Order offers graphical tools to mirror and consolidate the business processes of the operation, focusing on minimizing throughput times. This is achieved by saving only core, basic and preferably value-added operations, still maintaining flexibility for potential future changes.
RedPrairie Build-To-Order solutions have helped some of the world’s largest automotive enterprises implement in-sequence delivery, agile and lean manufacturing, and build-to-order processes. This has enabled suppliers to manage their production - from order to delivery, real-time, thereby gaining a competitive advantage through shortening lead times, reducing inventory costs and increasing delivery quality.
