Retailers Tackle the Last Yard of the Supply Chain

It happens all day, every day, in stores across the country. The customer is ready to buy, but the item she desires isn’t on the shelf…and nobody is around to help. Meanwhile, the inventory is stuck in the back room, along with the store’s most skilled salesperson, who is busy unloading boxes off the dock.
End result? The customer goes somewhere else to make her purchase. In fact, industry studies have found that 40 percent of consumers will leave a store if they can’t find their products on the shelf.
