Automating Your Task Management Can Save $$$

Whether it be planning and executing a new product introduction, or just getting boxes off the docks and into the hands of customers, coordinating all of the moving parts in an operation — before products spoil — is a difficult task. However, formalizing and automating task management can alleviate many of the problems associated with inefficient execution.
One example of task management, and a best practice for store managers, is to coordinate a thrice-daily temperature check across all refrigerators and freezers in all stores, recording all of the data for trend analysis. The goal is to recognize units in need of maintenance before complete breakdown. This deliverable also supports inventory protection because nobody wants to throw out an entire freezer full of inventory or suffer customer dissatisfaction from “borderline” refrigeration. Read more
