Big Bang ERP Morphs into a Triple-Bang Platform

If you hear someone advocating big-bang enterprise apps today you know they didn't just drink the Kool-Aid, they mainlined it. But what if you split a huge big-bang ERP system into three smaller bangs, or, more precisely, three logically grouped platforms? You get a triple platform, or triple bang, structure, and a new paradigm for retail enterprise applications.
I spoke about this new paradigm with Mike Mayoras, CEO of RedPrairie, the fast-growing application provider currently in the midst of creating an end-to-end retail execution platform.
Big Bang ERP Is Dead
The first thing you need to do, according to Mayoras, is to admit that big-bang ERP is dead. "Who hasn't had to deal with an ERP disaster in their backgrounds?" he asks, knowing the industry is littered with big-bang horror stories.
