Christian Salvesen Moves to Increase Efficiency Using Warehouse Management System from RedPrairie
Christian Salvesen Selects RedPrairie’s solution for new warehouse implementations. The move to a single platform over a period of years will cut operational overheads, deliver efficiency improvements and enable rapid and reliable implementations of new warehouse locations.
Stokenchurch, UK – Leading third party logistics provider Christian Salvesen has announced its decision to purchase RedPrairie’s warehouse management solution, initially for new site implementations and thereafter on a planned replacement programme as existing systems become obsolete.
Christian Salvesen is a major European logistics business employing some 13,000 staff and operating in seven countries. Their capabilities span the range of supply chain operations across the industrial, consumer and food sectors. Working in partnership with major customers, inventories are optimised and consignments are delivered when required, with reverse logistics operations ensuring that packaging is recycled and maximum transit packaging is returned. Christian Salvesen’s customers include Asda, Danone, Carrefour, Ford, GM, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Tesco and Unilever.
RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution was chosen over other providers for its scalability and comprehensive functionality. A single, centrally controlled installation will be web-deployed across all of Christian Salvesen’s UK distribution centres, replacing legacy systems at each location and eliminating the cost and complexity of maintaining them. The system will support all clients and all distribution centre activities, such as receiving, putaway, picking, inventory management and stock control, with all functionality available through a browser. User-specific permissions will give clients, end-customers and suppliers online access to their account and order information.
RedPrairie will help Christian Salvesen to achieve its goal of providing cost effective services combined with superior customer service. Jan Huizeling, Chief Information Officer at Christian Salvesen, says, “We aim to be recognised as Europe's leading provider of supply chain solutions, RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution will help us achieve this by standardising a major element of our new implementations and providing us with a single scalable solution going forward. Our RedPrairie implementation will help us improve warehouse efficiency and reduce technology costs; it will support our growth and help us deliver an ever better service to our clients.”
Martin Hiscox, Managing Director and President International comments “We are delighted to support Christian Salvesen across the UK and look forward to working with them for many years to come. This deal is further testimony to RedPrairie’s strength in the third party logistics industry, a market where we will continue to deliver innovation and leadership.”
