RedPrairie enhances store distribution for retailers with new Warehouse Management release

ATLANTA  – RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced a number of enhancements to its Warehouse Management solution today that will provide retailers with a wider range of functionality for distributing incoming inventory to stores. Part of RedPrairie’s 2010.2 Warehouse Management release, the new features will allow customers to more effectively apportion expected inventory to store locations with a wider range of configurable rules.

“Most distribution managers have had to cope with uncomfortable rules imposed by their software systems that required inventory disbursement to less-than-optimal store locations,” says Scott Zickert, RedPrairie Product Manager, Distribution Products. “The new enhancements we’ve made to our Warehouse Management solution allow a far greater degree of flexibility when setting rules for what merchandise ends up at which stores. Now, managers will be able to set rules that can ensure every store in a network receives at least a case when receiving shorts exist, for example. Or, those managers can mandate that product is apportioned based on the percent remaining of a store’s total ordered quantity in store priority sequence.”

 Zickert continues, “In addition, we now support the ability for users on the floor to perform those distributions to store grid locations using RF and voice technology, which helps improve pick and put-to-store performance and accuracy.”
