Levin Furniture goes live with RedPrairie Fleet Management solution
Leading furniture retailer aims for enhanced home delivery efficiency with complete, automated route planning
ATLANTA – RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced today that Levin Furniture has gone live with RedPrairie’s Fleet Management solution for complete route and load planning across its home delivery operations. The system will run in tandem with RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution, which Levin implemented at its distribution center in Smithton, Pa. over two years ago.
“A productive history, and a great ongoing relationship with RedPrairie played a big part in our decision to bring more of their technology online with our organization,” says Levin’s Ward Dingmann, VP of Operations. “Fleet Management has a great deal of functionality that other competitors we looked at were not able to match, including planning for the kind of demountable boxes we use with our vehicles. Meeting those unique requirements was something no other vendor could match.”
Specifically, Fleet Management will plan and optimize both loads and routes for Levin’s entire fleet, with the goal of significantly reducing cost of delivery. The company expects both Fleet and Warehouse Management solutions together to bring new synergies to Levin’s business, enabling enhanced efficiency across the entire organization.
