Wilson Sons implements RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution in Rio de Janeiro distribution center

MEXICO CITY, Mexico – NetLogistik, a leading supply chain technologic and consulting company in Latin America, announced today that Wilson Sons, a leading Brazilian trade service provider company, has rolled out RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution in a pharmaceutical client distribution center in Rio de Janeiro.

Wilson Sons Group is a Brazilian company with more than 170 years of existence providing shipping, towing, logistics, ship repair and construction, and port services. Wilson Sons Logistics division has multiple clients in many cities around Brazil, varying from medium-sized operations to complex warehousing and distribution environments. Although Wilson had a mature legacy system able to maintain current multiclient operations, it was crucial for the company to find a flexible and customizable solution that could be implemented rapidly, while escalating current and new business requirements and plans of growth.

RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution includes features like product rotation, date and lot controls, cartonization, and origin code that were beneficial to Wilson Sons in the pharmaceutical client distribution center. Other capabilities such as task interleaving, inventory accuracy, replenishments and picking progress visibility were also important to the successful implementation.

Implementing a “best of breed” solution represents the first step in an aggressive plan of technological standardization across Wilson’s execution logistics software. The plan will ensure Wilson Sons’s commitment to quality, satisfying demands placed by their extended client portfolio including local language requirements and customer specific layouts.
