Planning & Scheduling
RedPrairie Planning & Scheduling combines the labor requirements forecast with employee factors such as skill level, availability, preferences, and labor laws to create an optimal schedule. Because the schedule is tightly integrated with the forecasting application and human resources data, it can help ensure employees are in place to meet customer demands. And because their individual work preferences are met, employee satisfaction can increase.
Utilizing integer and linear algorithms, RedPrairie can help build the best possible schedules. Algorithmic scheduling works by examining retail labor scheduling constraints, embodying those constraints as variables in integer and linear programs, and solving for the optimal schedule. Using this approach provides the best possible schedule given the constraints.
Using automated scheduling enables operators to:
Automate the employee scheduling process based on the sales forecast - no staffing guesswork means the right staff is working at the right time in the right place to meet customer demand
Comprehensive scheduling accounts for employee preferences, availability, employment regulations, and skill level
Avoid unnecessary employee overtime
Overtime alerts notify managers of employees approaching overtime, including those working across multiple sites, and present steps required to modify the schedule
