Life Sciences Survey Finds Reducing Supply Chain Costs is Top Issue
Improving Customer Service and Compliance also Key Concerns
In a survey of Life Sciences manufacturers and distributors conducted in May and June, 2011, the number one challenge identified by supply chain executives and practitioners was reducing supply chain costs. When asked to select their top issue, 48 percent chose reducing supply chain costs, far outpacing any other issue. While improving customer service was the second most often cited challenge, it appears Life Sciences companies are lagging behind other industries in transitioning from recession-induced cost cutting to more revenue focused strategies associated with economic recovery, such as improving customer service.
